The Russian team won three gold in the fifth day of the European Championship on struggle

KASPIYSK, 5 may. / TASS /. Russian athletes won three gold and two silver medals in the fifth competition of the day of the European Championship on wrestling, which takes place in Kaspiysk.

On the penultimate day of the tournament held its first finals in wrestling. In weight category to 57 kg the Russians, Savour Uguyev in the decisive battle lost to Azerbaijanian Giorgi Edisherashvili with the score 3: 5, the owners of the bronze awards became Vladislav Andreev from Belarus and Stevan Micic from Serbia. Russia’s Ilyas Bekbulatov in the weight category up to 65 kg won silver, lost in the final of the Azerbaijani Haji Aliyev (7: 8), third were the Georgian Vladimir hinchegashvili and Selahattin Kilicaslan from Turkey.

In the weight category up to 70 kg Russian Magomed kurbanaliyev won in the final match of Magomedmurad Hajiyev from Poland (3: 1) and the second time in his career he became the champion of Europe. Third of weight of steel Murtazali Muslimov from Azerbaijan and Surabi, Yakobashvili from Georgia.

Russian freestyle wrestler Ahmed Gadzhimagomedov won the first gold medal of the European Championships. In the final fight in the weight category up to 79 kg, he defeated the German Martin Obst (6: 3), bronze was won by the Azerbaijani Jabrayil Hasanov and Hungarian Mihaly Nagy. In weight category to 97 kg Russian Vladislav Bazaev in the final he defeated Alexander Gushtyn, from Belarus with the score 7: 0, the gold was his first in a career before the athlete won silver and bronze European Championships. Third place went to Nurmagomed Gadzhiyev of Azerbaijan and Elizbar Odikadze of Georgia.

Russian team strengthened leadership in the overall standings of the tournament, the team has nine gold, seven silver and three bronze medals. Second place goes to the team of Azerbaijan (4-3-8), the third – Turkey (3-0-5).

The championship will conclude on 6 may.
