TASS, May 3. Serb Igor Kokoshkov will be appointed head coach of the National Basketball Association (NBA) "Phoenix". The press service of the club reports.
The contract with Kokoshkov will last for three years. To work the specialist will start after the end of the season for "Utah", where he is an assistant to the head coach. The specialist already worked "Phoenix" from 2008 to 2013 assistant team coach.
Last October "Phoenix" retired head coach Earl Watson, until the end of the regular season and. about. the coach of the team was Jay Triano.
Kokoshkov, who also has US citizenship, will be the first head coach in the history of the NBA, who was born outside of North America. In 2017, Kokoshkov led to the gold of the European Championship Slovenian team.
