COPENHAGEN, 6 May. / TASS /. The Russian national hockey team will hold its second match at the World Championships in Denmark. Wards Ilya Vorobyov will play against the team of Austria.

Both rivals are at the preliminary stage in group A, whose games take place on "Royal Arena" in Copenhagen. Both the Russians and the Austrians have already held one match at the tournament. Team Russia on Friday defeated the French team with a score of 7: 0.

The Austrians held their match on Saturday – their match against the Swiss on the second day of the tournament in Copenhagen became the earliest, starting right after noon. In the game with the favorites of the match, the Austrians managed to equalize, losing 0: 2, and earned a point, losing only in overtime.

The composition of the Russian national team in comparison with the match with the French is more likely to be unchanged. In the application for the Russians now 19 field players and two goalkeepers, the coaching staff is waiting for the outcome of the duels in the Stanley Cup. One place out of three in the application for field hockey players holds for striker Nikita Gusev, who flew to Copenhagen and will not play in the next matches, continuing the recovery after the illness.

Two-time bronze medalists

Team Austria in the world championships since 2005 alternates performances in the elite with a flight to the first division. Last year, Austrian hockey players successfully played in Kiev, winning the world championship in Division I and going to the elite with the South Koreans. At the world championships, they twice in their history won bronze medals – in 1931 and 1947. After 1994, the Austrians in the tournament never rose above the 10th place.

As part of the team at the World Championships are hockey players from Austrian, as well as Swiss and Swedish clubs. At the tournament, the Austrians have announced so far 23 players out of 25, given that the overseas for the World Cup has long been released strikers Thomas Vanek ("Columbus"), Michael Grabner ("Rangers") and Michael Raffle ("Philadelphia").
