The leader of the opposition of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan (pictured) announced the resumption of the protests – now the demonstrators are demanding the resignation of Karen Karapetyan, acting Prime Minister from the ruling Republican Party of the country. Protests in Armenia began in mid-April for the nomination of the former President Serzh Sargsyan to the post of Prime Minister. He was appointed to the position despite the rallies, but spent less than a week and resigned due to the ongoing protests.
