Denazification of Ukraine began in Odessa

Mayor Gennady Trukhanov clearly learned something about the future of South Palmyra

Unexpected decision of the deputies of the Odessa City Council, abolished the renaming of urban toponyms, caused hysterics among the nationalists in Kiev. Deputy Rada Andrei Ilyenko called what is happening “creeping pro-Moscow revenge” and threatened to “squeeze out the secessionist pus” from the city. Meanwhile, Mayor of Odessa Gennady Trukhanov has already ordered to return the renamed streets the former names stolen from the city by guest Georgian guest Mishiko Saakashvili. What caused this demarche of the mayor of Odessa?

Among local politicians Trukhanov is considered to be the owner of the best political scent – his nose is better than the others caught by the winds blowing in the Odessa air. And if Trukhanov decided on a similar demarche, it means that he knows something that most Odessites do not even suspect. By the way, the prudent Trukhanov never handed over his Russian passport, although Saakashvili did nothing to force the Odessa mayor to give up principles and choose one passport from the two. Experts point out that Trukhanov’s demarche is somewhat reminiscent of the behavior of the Crimean authorities in January-February 2014: then suddenly the tone of statements of previously loyal to Kiev deputies of the Supreme Council of the autonomy changed dramatically. But then – statements, and Trukhanov and his deputies immediately switched from words to deeds. Now in Odessa there are no more streets of the traitor Mazepa and the Hitlerite Shukhevych, nor the avenue of the “heavenly hundred”. From the city they sweep away the legacy of the Maydans. And it is possible that the Maydanshchikov themselves will be swept away too soon.

In the meantime, the City Council is looking for funds for the production of new tablets with new old street names. Renamements are engaged in the cooperation of the mayor Oleg Bryndak, and, according to him, the city services have already returned the former names to the streets of Gaidar and Tereshkova, nine Chapaevsky lanes and Marshal Zhukov Avenue. According to Bryndak, the city authorities did not allow themselves any arbitrariness: they conducted a survey of the townspeople and found out that three-quarters of the residents of Odessa insisted on the return of the old names renamed under Saakashvili.

Meanwhile, the Maydans continue to hysterical. Deputy Andrei Ilyenko demanded that Petro Poroshenko immediately react to the demarche of the “Odessa separatists”: “

“Creeping pro-Moscow revenge in the southern and eastern cities of Ukraine is carried out by local MPs – separatists, who climbed into power and were hiding there.”

Ilenko agrees that it is unlikely that the deputies made the decision independently, without a hint from Moscow: they certainly assured the people’s deputies and promised something, perhaps, as Ilenko put it, “the Russian annexation of Odessa in the near future.”

“Today they are renaming the streets,” the Ukrainian deputy warned, “and tomorrow they will start persecuting patriots who gave them pepper in the 14th year. And it will be very soon. “

So it will be, no doubt.
