In Russia, alcohol consumption is declining. The amount of alcohol per capita since 2006 has decreased by 40%.
Data of the Ministry of Health of Russia on April 27 leads RBC with a reference to RIA Novosti. The Ministry of Health noted that this was due to systematic work carried out in accordance with the concept of implementing state policies to reduce the abuse of alcohol and alcoholism among the population of Russia for the period until 2020.
The ministry stressed that, in accordance with the concept, it was possible to ensure a ban on the sale of alcoholic beverages in children’s, educational, medical organizations, sport facilities, in adjacent territories and in cultural organizations, for the retail sale of alcohol products from 23:00 to 08: 00.
Also, the Ministry of Health added that the department supports most initiatives that are aimed at tightening control over the turnover of ethyl alcohol, increasing the excise tax on alcohol products, as well as reducing the territorial availability of alcohol products for the population.
In January, Russian Minister of Health Veronika Skvortsova said that over the past five to seven years, alcohol consumption in the country was reduced by 80%.
